  • @Neilhoh3

    Some good info here. But: You dont have wait until coffee is going everywhere and mucking about pushing it back into basket, before you tamp it down. There is a tamper hanging on left side hey? Just lightly tamp down after each time you add grinds. You don't need to even remove tamper from machine, push up with basket. Seems obvious you dont use enough tamping pressure to compress grinds and why you need superfine grind. The crema still seems to be lacking. Just because you tamp to right level doesnt mean you have enough grounds. It is the rim on your tamper that stops the tamping not the amount of grinds in the basket - wrong. It depends on the pressure applied when tamping and this requires correct amount of grinds in basket. I find that by pushing UP with the basket on the tamper, the weight of the machine means pressure is about right when you tamp to correct level in basket, if you have correct grind setting. If the tamper pushes below the level on basket you need more grounds. The tamper you are using doesnt allow you tamp below the correct level. It is the coffee grinds that need to stop you tamping further not the rim on the tamper device.

    Hi! Your videos are very good, ty! Quick question? How do you start/stop a shot “manually” ? My machine only has the preestablished times but I want to experiment ..

    • @AjusCafe

      To stop whenever you need, just press the same button again (single or double cup button). So you can time your shot and stop.

    easy as pie after watching this video. I have an issue with no pressure on the steam wand, how can I tell which of those plastic tubes would be the one feeding the steam wand so I can check for mineral deposits?

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe 21 годину тому

      Usually its the steam wand itself. You need to clean it the steam wand thoroughly. ua-cam.com/video/DWivoLznT8Y/v-deo.htmlsi=S_AooKbDLccH9RRg If it doesn't help at all, then it could be the steam wand gasket that switches from hot water to steam failing. Does hot water have enough pressure?

    Hi, I have the Breville (Sage) Barista Impress - the one with the tamping system that let's you know if you're at the right level in your basket. It shows me green, it's 18g. I additionally try and make sure with the razor tool. Everything is perfect - yet the puck keeps on staying stuck to the shower head. It's like you HAVE to use a puck screen, otherwise it's always a mess. Any additional things I might be doing wrong here? Oh I was making sure the shower head is screwed all the way to the top and not sticking out too much. That can also be a problem

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe 4 дні тому

      Have you tried to remove the Portafilter immediately after making espresso? Try that. Or grind coarser and see. Also an easy fix is to press single or double cup button for 2 seconds and press again to stop. That will push the puck down to the Portafilter

      What is your Grind size used for the espresso. Does your espresso taste good and generates crema or just watery? You need to Factory Reset your machine in the menu and try again with a more finer Grind size.

    What a kind and valuable service you have done for those of us who have a Breville...I watched this video several times, but am too old and unfamiliar with working with all the wires and screws and nuts and bolts. Your description of the leak is exactly what happened with mine after 5 or 6 years; I have opted to make my espresso using a French press. Had my first cup this morning and it tasted identical to Breville's magical brew!!!!! All the best to you for having created this video!

    Hi, I have a Breville Barista Max Espresso Machine VCF126 which was working. Now, when I switch it on, it beeps but there are no pumping noises. After a short time the steam lights flash but there are no noises. The machine stays like this, flashing lights and no noises. It therefore won't make coffee. The grinder works perfectly. Do you have any suggestions on what might have gone wrong and what I should look for when I open the machine. Many thanks

    I have the opposite issue, but only with the single shot basket. I use non pressurized baskets for both single and double shot espresso. Beans and grind settings are common for both baskets. While using double shot basket, everything is fine, I get pressure between 12 and 1 o clock position with a beautiful shot. But with single shot (all other settings unchanged), the pressure rises above 1 o clock and then the machine spills the water all over the place, coming out of the top of the basket and spraying the ground all around the machine. The pressure immediately drops and I get coffee grind in the cup. If I use the double wall single shot basket, everything works fine! Any reason why it's happening only in single shot basket and how to fix it?
